St. Mary Cinema movie, “The Song of Bernadette, which will be shown after the noon Mass on Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Parish Hall.
On Feb. 23, 1858, Mary made the seventh of her appearances to Bernadette Soubirous in Lourdes, France. On Feb. 23, 2020, St. Mary Cinema will honor Mary by showing the classic 1943 film, “The Song of Bernadette” after the noon Mass in the Parish Hall. The movie is free and popcorn will be served. A winner of four Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Jennifer Jones in the role of Bernadette, this movie is a biographical drama based on Mary’s 18 appearances at Lourdes between February and July of 1858. Vincent Price and Lee J. Cobb are also in the cast. “The Song of Bernadette” is appropriate for all ages, but is best for teens and older.
