TRUE BEAUTY: A Retreat for Girls

WHAT?

A retreat experience just for girls to encounter God’s love with their sisters in Christ.

WHO?

Any girls in 7th-12th grade are invited to come! They don’t have to go to our parish, so feel free to invite your friends. We are collaborating with St. Thomas the Apostle in Crystal Lake for this retreat, so many girls from their parish will be in attendance too.

WHEN?

Saturday, April 14th at 9:30am until Sunday, April 15th at 1:00pm. All families are invited to join us at the Noon Mass on Sunday. Retreatants are expected to be there for the entire retreat.

WHERE?

The retreat will be held here at St. Mary’s (10307 Dundee Rd. Huntley, IL 60142)

HOW?

Click the link below and follow the instructions to register. The cost is $50, but we never want money to be a reason for anyone to not be able to attend. Financial aid and scholarships are available as needed, please just contact us.

BASIC INFORMATION

The retreat will all be held here at St. Mary’s. Everyone should be dropped off and picked up at the parish hall. The basic layout is as follows:

  • Get dropped off outside the Parish hall between 9:15am and 9:30am on Saturday, April 14th
  • Get picked up around 1:00pm (after the Noon Mass) on Sunday, April 15th

We will sleep on the floor in classrooms; see below for full packing list.

REGISTRATION

We need to have everyone fill out the online registration form for each event that is overnight or off-site, as per Diocesan policy. When you are finished with the form, you will then be able to print out the permission slip to sign and turn in. If you do not have a printer, let us know and we will be able to print the form for you, but only once you’ve done the online portion. The form and $50 fee need to be turned in by Monday, April 9th to the Youth Ministry Office. Checks can be made out to “St. Mary Catholic Church.” Click here to go to our online registration form.

MEALS

At this retreat we will have the following meals:

  • Lunch on Saturday (Sandwiches)
  • Dinner on Saturday (A fancy, catered dinner)
  • Breakfast on Sunday (Waffles, breakfast meats, and more!)

If your teen has any allergies, dietary restrictions, etc., please be sure to note that on your liability and medical form as well as email us to let us know that so that we can accommodate them.

MEDICATION RELEASE

If your teen needs to take prescription medications (or non-prescription medications), please do the following:

  1. Put all their prescription meds in a ziploc bag.
  2. Select the link below to fill out a Prescription Medication Form, and also place that in the bag.
  3. When your teen arrives at the retreat center, they should turn in their meds to the adult at check-in.
  4. Your teen will need to come to the table in the back of the room to take their meds during the weekend. We will make announcements/reminders throughout the retreat and have an adult present to coordinate this.
