Whether we are collecting money for the homeless, gathering items for elderly

SERVICEPROJECTSin our community, heading to the local soup kitchen, or using our time and energy to support any number of people in our community and our world, we are sure to provide opportunities throughout the year for our young people to give back to the community and learn what it means to lead a life of service. The information below will tell you about what service opportunities we have coming during this year. See below for upcoming events; this will be updated as we add events for the school year.

Spring 2019 Service Opportunities

Packing Birthing Kits for Haiti – March 10th

Join us at Life Night on March 10th from 6:30-8:00PM where we will be packing birthing kits to send to our sister parish in Haiti! We will be joined by members of the Haiti Ministry and the Pro-Life Ministry to help families down in Haiti have all the supplies they need! No need to sign up in advance, just show up to Life Night!

Family Ministry Fancy Dance – Feb. 16th

The St. Mary Fancy will be held in the St. Mary Parish Hall on Saturday, February 16 from 6:30-8:30pm. The dance’s theme this year is Rock’n Roll. The family ministry could use high school volunteers during the dance at either the photo booth (taking photos for families with the parents’ cell phone) or in the food/kitchen area helping keep the tables filled with food. Super easy and fun volunteering opportunities! Click here to sign up for your volunteer position

EDGE Teen Helpers (for teens in grades 9-12)

Monday Night Middle School Program

We are in need of high school students to help our Core Team lead small groups for our EDGE Nights. EDGE takes place on Monday nights, and you can choose to help from either 5:00-6:15pm or 6:45-8:00pm. At EDGE, you will be placed in a small group of middle schoolers, who are all the same gender and in the same grade. With this small group, you will have the opportunity to share your faith and the ways God has worked in your life! (Plus middle schoolers love to hear all your advice on middle school and really look up to you!) For more information on EDGE Nights and a calendar for the year, please visit stmaryhuntley.org/edgenights

Sunday Childcare Program, During the 9:00 & 10:30 AM Sunday Masses

Kids for Christ welcomes children ages 1 to 4 to explore the basics of their faith in fun and creative ways.  This drop-in program introduces children to prayer, praise, and the scriptures through play, story time, crafts, songs and movements.  Kids for Christ is located in the lower level of the church during the 9:00 and 10:30 AM Sunday Masses. New children and adults who are looking to share their faith with the smallest members of the parish are always welcome.  Questions?  Please contact KidsforChrist@StMaryHuntley.org
