Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts, to all of our volunteers. We could not do anything without you. The youth of our parish and our world desperately need adults who take their Catholic faith seriously and are witnesses of the joyful life that our faith allows us to live – thank you for your “yes” to be that! Watch the video below to get a quick overview of what you’ll find on this page!

 YM Title

We the Youth Ministry of St. Mary’s in Huntley proclaim the life-changing love of God in order to lead young people to a deep, lasting relationship with the Person of Jesus Christ and His Church.

In our program, we have:

—Lifenights for our high school students on Sunday nights

–EDGE nights for 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students on Monday nights

  — Confirmation Prep sessions that the students attend with a sponsor once a month.

We are in need of many amazing volunteers to form our Core Teams! These are people who will help guide our young people in their faith; the roles look as follows:

These core team members are the small group leaders for our 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade students. They disciple these young people and walk with them each week at our EDGE nights, breaking open the topic in small group discussion and leading the teens in prayer. The EDGE core team are also the primary adults for the Jr. High Lock-In in the fall and the Spring Jr. High Retreat!

We will need a small core team of people who help at Confirmation Prep. The main role at the actual Sessions is to sub if someone is without a chaperone, as well as helping with check-in, passing out handouts, etc. These people will also help at the Confirmation Retreats and with the Sacrament of Confirmation itself.

Our lifeteen core team will help mainly at the Sunday lifenights by leading games, small groups, and praying and journeying with the teens. On to of discipling the young people at Sunday lifenights, the core team will help at the winter retreat, Steubenville Youth Conference, and any other events when they are able to.
