Eucharistic Adoration During the Triduum

Guidelines are given to us for adoration of the Eucharist during the liturgies of Holy Week.  Since our Eucharistic Adoration flows from the celebration of the Eucharist—the Mass—the laws governing Eucharistic Adoration during the Triduum are very clear.

During Holy Week, times for adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be adjusted as follows:

Wednesday, April 17th

Adoration will end with Night Prayer at 11:50 PM in the Chapel.  The Chapel will be closed at Midnight on Wednesday, April 17th.

Thursday, April 18th, Holy Thursday.

In accord with Church law, the Chapel is closed all day and night.

Friday, April 19th, Good Friday

Solemn Public Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament is not held on Good Friday.  The Adoration Chapel will remain closed during the day and night.

Saturday, April 20th, Holy Saturday

The celebration of the Easter Vigil at 7:00 PM is the most important and solemn liturgical celebration of the entire Church year—It is the Mass of the Resurrection.  Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Adoration Chapel will start again after the Vigil.  The regular schedule of Adoration will resume at 10:00 PM on Holy Saturday night.
