“And all families, we need God: all of us! We need his help, his strength, his blessing, his mercy, his forgiveness.”
We are very excited to once again host our “Jesus Day” mini-retreats for second grade students preparing for their First Holy Communion together with one or both of their parents / guardians. These are days of prayer, days of fun, and days of reflection before this pivotal day in the lives of our children.
There are two options for Jesus Day once again this year – you can find information about these days and register for the day you’d like to attend below!
SCHEDULE OF THE DAY
8:45am – Check-in for students and parents / guardians in the Parish Hall
9:00am – Day begins
This day will include a chance for the students to tour the church, some time of games and fun, a time of prayer, some bread making, and more!
12pm – End of the Jesus Day
These two days will be on:
Saturday, January 20th
Saturday, February 10th
(you can attend either, they will be the same content!)
WHAT TO EXPECT
This day will include:
- A session just for the parents
- Various games and activities for the second graders, hosted by some of the Religious Education Teachers as well as some of the teenagers and other adults who will come to volunteer and give of their time on these days
- A tour of the Church and time with one of the priests
- A time of Eucharistic Adoration
- Coffee and refreshments for parents (and some other things for the kids!)
If you click the link below, you’ll be taken to a Google Form where you’ll be able to sign-up for one or the other day and let us know whether one or two adults will be accompanying the child on this day. If you have more than one student, please fill out this brief form for each of them so that we can have an accurate count. We will do our best to make sure everyone can attend the day of their choosing, but sign-up ASAP to be sure you can get the day you’d like to attend!
Please register by January 18, 2018.
If you are in Jr. High, High School, or you are an adult who is not attending this day with your child but would like to volunteer, please click the link below to fill out our volunteer form and let us know if you can help and when you’d like to help! Thank you in advance – this day would not be possible without you.
