baptism

For a child:

Congratulations on the upcoming Baptism of your child!

If you have never attended a Baptismal Preparation Class, you and your spouse will need to attend one (held on alternating Tuesday and Wednesday evenings three weeks apart at 7:00 PM).  To arrange, please call the parish office at (847) 669-3137 any time during parish office hours.  There will be a sign-in sheet at the Baptismal Preparation Class and you need to sign in so we know you attended.  After you have both attended the Baptismal Preparation Class, you need to call the parish office again to schedule the Baptism date.  The parish office will need the following information BEFORE they can schedule a date:

  • the child’s name, date of birth, and city of birth
  • Baptismal date (Baptisms are held almost every Sunday at 1:30 in the afternoon.  The parish office can help you choose a suitable date.)
  • Father’s first, middle (if applicable) and last name.
  • Mother’s first, middle (if applicable) and maiden name
  • The parents’ place of marriage.  If the parents were not married at the time of the baby’s birth, a copy of the child’s legal birth certificate.
  • The name of at least one godparent who meets the qualifications in Guidelines for Godparents.

Once the Baptism is scheduled, you will receive a letter from the parish office confirming the date and time of the Baptism.

If you and your spouse have already attended a Baptismal Preparation class, simply call the parish office at (847) 669-3137 any time during parish office hours to schedule the Baptism date.
