THE SACRAMENT OF CONFIRMATION
CCC 1285 Baptism, the Eucharist, and together constitute the "sacraments of Christian initiation," whose unity must be safeguarded. It must be explained to the faithful that the reception of is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace. For "by , [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the Church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence they are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed."
Program Overview
Confirmation at St. Mary Catholic Church is being restructured from a 1 year program for 9th graders, into a 2 year program starting with 7th grade (EDGE) and being fully formed and confirmed in 8th grade.
*Must be a registered Parishioner of St. Mary Huntley to register for Confirmation. Must also live within Parish Boundaries. Please see Parish Office to register at the Parish*
High School Confirmation: Students in 9th through 12th grade needing to be Confirmed will sign up for our 1 year program. This meets once a month on the 1st Sunday of each month from 10:15am to 11:45am in the Parish Hall. *This is not a permanent program and will be disbanded within the next few years.* High School Confirmation students will be required to attend at least one (1) High School Youth Ministry Night each month during Confirmation.
8th grade Confirmation: Students in 8th grade will need to sign up for both EDGE and Confirmation, the EDGE registration form is a combined form. Students will attend EDGE on Monday's as the program follows. During the 1st EDGE session each month, 8th graders will attend normally. During the 2nd EDGE session each month, 8th graders will participate in the beginning of EDGE normally but will go to Confirmation Prep once the programming of that session begins. Confirmation Prep is done by the Director of High School Youth Ministry and Confirmation.
Both High School and 8th grade Confirmation Classes will be required to attend a Confirmation Retreat as part of the requirements for receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
Attendance of ALL Confirmation Classes, for both High School and 8th grade, are required to receive the Sacrament. Lack of attendance will result in the need for the Sacrament Make-Up Program.
Cost
The cost of the Confirmation Program, for both High School and 8th grade, is $150.
Payments can be made via Cash, Check or Online.

Volunteer Opportunities
Confirmation Small Group Leader: We are in need of Small Group leaders for our High School Confirmation Class. Volunteers would be provided with the proper materials to take attendance of their group, small group activities, and supplementary questions to allow students to begin discussing the materials learned in class.
